From Promises to Neglect: Indigenous Communities and Canadian Politics
The Case for an Indigenous Political Party in Canada
As we reflect on the history of indigenous support for the Liberal, Conservative and NDP parties in Canada, it becomes clear that this relationship has not turned out very well for the indigenous communities. Despite promises of support and reconciliation, the government has a long history of neglecting and mistreating First Nations peoples. One of the most glaring examples of this mistreatment is the ongoing issue of land rights and resource extraction on indigenous territories. The government has consistently prioritized the interests of corporations over the rights of indigenous communities, leading to environmental degradation and loss of traditional lands.
Furthermore, the Liberal government specifically has a track record of broken promises and empty words when it comes to addressing the systemic issues facing indigenous communities. Despite pledges to improve education, healthcare, and housing for First Nations peoples, little progress has been made and conditions on reserves continue to be deplorable. Adding insult to injury, the Liberal government has allocated more money for foreign nations while indigenous communities in Canada continue to suffer. The ever-growing national debt only adds to the frustration felt by indigenous peoples who have been marginalized and neglected for far too long. Having held power for 45 of the last 60 years, there was plenty of time.
It is time for a change. The history of lies and condensation towards First Nations by the political parties must come to an end. It is clear that the current approach is not working and a new direction is needed to truly address the injustices faced by indigenous communities in Canada.
When will we try something different? When will we prioritize the rights and well-being of indigenous peoples over political expediency and corporate interests? It is time for a new way forward, one that respects and uplifts the voices and rights of First Nations peoples. Let us not forget the historical wrongs committed by the government against indigenous populations in Canada. From the forced assimilation of indigenous children in residential schools to the ongoing neglect and mistreatment of First Nations communities, the injustices are too numerous to ignore.
It is time for change. It is time for a new approach. Indigenous communities deserve better, and it is up to all of us to demand accountability and justice for the injustices of the past and present. Let us stand together in solidarity with First Nations peoples and work towards a future that honours and respects the rights and sovereignty of indigenous communities in Canada.
What happened to the promises of self-governance for indigenous communities in Canada? Despite commitments to recognize and respect the inherent rights of First Nations peoples to self-determination and self-governance, the Liberal government has fallen short in delivering on these promises. The implementation of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) and the recognition of indigenous governance structures have been slow and inadequate.
The current political landscape in Canada also raises the question of whether there is a space for an indigenous political party to represent the interests and voices of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples. With the existing political parties failing to adequately address the needs and priorities of indigenous communities, the idea of an indigenous political party has been raised as a potential solution.
An indigenous political party could provide a platform for indigenous leaders to advocate for the rights, sovereignty, and self-determination of their communities. It could offer a unique perspective on issues such as land rights, resource management, education, healthcare, and justice that are central to the well-being of indigenous peoples in Canada.
However, the challenges of forming and sustaining a viable indigenous political party are significant. Indigenous communities are diverse, with a wide range of perspectives, priorities, and interests. Building a cohesive and inclusive political movement that represents this diversity would require strong leadership, organizational capacity, and support from within indigenous communities.
Furthermore, the current electoral system in Canada presents obstacles to the formation of a successful indigenous political party. The first-past-the-post system often marginalizes smaller parties and makes it difficult for them to gain representation in Parliament.
Despite these challenges, the idea of an indigenous political party raises important questions about representation, self-governance, and the role of indigenous peoples in the political process. As we reflect on the history of indigenous support for mainstream political parties in Canada and the shortcomings of these relationships, it is worth considering whether an indigenous political party could provide a new path forward for First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples to advocate for their rights and interests in the political arena.

Thank you, most speak from the brain, to numerous to mention here, original people speak from the heart.
Mother Earth is to be healed as we are to be.The path laid out in the stars for us to follow.
The good extra terrestrial where we have been guided will see to the cleansing. We have to be carefull, many leaders are being taken out that are following our path. We pray to be safe in our travels, and invisible to our enemies.

As per documents and history - somehow the indigenous peoples forgot they already have their occupied lands entitlements - Kanat`an's original peoples with differing borders than what Canada created the corporation that doesn't exist ON the land --- this corporation exists only ON PAPER...
You don't want "your land back" it's (Y)OURS already - those of us who are natural born multigenerational - 'indigenous' to this land also want to adjust things together in a lawful manner - and a sacred manner. Not a 'political' manner...
Let's see in this lifetime, the removal of the occupation by this corporation and especially the takeover occurring these days with the UN - move it on out, there has been enough genocide of the peoples and Acts, Statutes and Legislations that do NOT apply to those who remain in the sovereign way - so time to shift all right - but first ask yourself -
are you prepared to make a shift if not what do you need to do to be ready?
are you ready to jump off the corporate ship - even if it's your only income source right now - to make this change for the greater and longer haul for our children's children?
Because there is not "Both Ways" - money from the corporation that supports your 'status' nor is there and "Indian Act" and where did the culture go? Where is the allegiance to the hereditary families and the clan mothers? Get RID of your Band Councils and get back culture with which your spirits will go and we will all benefit!
The paper money won't be here for long it appears to be disappearing anyways... it's just another form of addiction anyways, when it comes down to comparing how things were prior to it's existence. Then when the fiat dollar is wiped out (China just disposed of 54.5 Billion debt of USD degrading it further now our dollars look comparable to the peso or bhat) so what on EARTH do you really need to survive?
No one is telling you, each of us are required to rise up to the Creator's calling, but I just wonder how much connection with the Creator still exists?
Can you bring it back?
There is NO stronger being on this planet that the North American Original Peoples - heck from all that's been done, the trauma created alone is enough to decimate your abilities to function, the indoctrinations for the residential schools...
Yet here you are still...
Warriors are arising out of the ashes like the Phoenix Bird...
Strengthening - Again
Creator has a greater plan for all of humanity
Step into the calling
Listen to your inner true guidance from Spirit and Creator
Become who you were designed to be
And remember your ancestry, your culture, your ways...
Bring it back for the sake of all of humanity.
There is a gathering of Hereditary's happening at least in the West and hopefully many from the East will begin joining this movement... You may want to learn more and attend meetings with Headsman Popois who is an aluuwx for the Headmens of Kanat`an because he knows his lawful procedures and he is here to help with these changes. https://peoplesofthesalmon.org/
I encourage all to also listen to the AIN meeting May 16th with Dr David Keanu Sai - it speaks a lot about occupied nations and in their case Hawai`i... this could be our path as well, or similar.
